DAY 1: KOCHI

On arrival at Kochi Airport assisted transfer to hotel for 02 nights. Afternoon free to relax or to explore the city. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 2 : KOCHI

Kochi – the ‘Queen of Arabian Sea’ is one of the most interesting cities of South India and has one of the finest natural harbors in the world. The ancient Temples, Churches and Synagogues in this district are of special interest to archeologists and historians. The Chinese fishing nets, the Jewish Synagogue, the Dutch palace and the Bolghatty palace in Kochi enrich the heritage of Kerala. Today you’ll go for full day sightseeing of city in the heritage part by foot. This an interesting place to go around. You can walk through the old world charm to visit the Mattancherry palace, Jewish Synagogue and St. Francis church. Your trip will finish by the Chinese fishing nets. Here you’ll have delicious fresh seafood under the tree shades overlooking the lakeside. We’ll buy fresh prawns/fish from the Chinese fishing nets and the fisherman will prepare it for you. A thrilling experience! Later back to hotel. Evening visit to ‘ Kathakali’ centre, where you’ll watch the interesting Kathakali costumes followed by performance. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 3 : KOCHI – MUNNAR

After breakfast drive through the beautiful landscape of Kerala to Munnar. En route visit ‘Koodanad’ the elephant training camp, one of the very few elephant camps in Kerala. Continue to Munnar and on arrival check in at hotel for 03 nights. Rest of the day free to relax. Overnight at hotel..

DAY 04 : MUNNAR

Munnar is the most beautiful hill resort of Kerala. This place is famous for tea estates and the whole hill area is covered with tea estates and like a green carpet on earth. An unexplored, unpolluted and the best place to go for hiking in Kerala. After an early breakfast drive to Eravikulam National Park, where you can see the Nilgiri Thar (Ibex, which is almost extinct from the world) and you’ll go for hiking to the hills. You can carry light lunch along with you. You will be back to the hotel around 1400 hrs. Rest of the day free to relax. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 05 : MUNNAR

After an early breakfast you’ll be transferred by jeep to the hiking point. Today you’ll hike through the tea estates and through the villages. On the way you’ll be passing through streams, beautiful valleys and by the local schools. We’ll take you to one particular school in the hills where you’ll get a chance to interact with the children and share their ideas and views. An interesting meeting! Later back to hotel. Afternoon to visit the local market. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 06 : MUNNAR

After an early breakfast you’ll be transferred to a different hill for a short hike mainly to get nice sights. Today again you’ll pass through the villages. The villagers are very friendly people and some time they’ll invite you for tea/coffee and you can definitely accept their hospitality. After visit to a tea factory you’ll be back to the hotel for a late lunch. Rest of the day free to explore the town. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 07: MUNNAR – PERIYAR

After breakfast drive to Periyar, one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries of South India famous for elephants. The drive from Munnar to Periyar will be an unforgettable experience through the cardamom hills and through the beautiful valleys. On arrival check in at hotel for 02 nights. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. Afternoon go for Boat cruise in the lake to watch wild animals. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 08 : PERIYAR

Early morning go for 4 hours jungle walk to the forest. Afternoon to visit local spice plantations like cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg etc. Rest of the day free to relax. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 09 : PERIYAR – ARANMULA

After breakfast drive to Aranmula. On arrival check in at ‘VIJNANA KALA VEDI’ – A Cultural Educational Institution engaged in teaching and propagating Indian Culture and Traditional Arts. Here you’ll get an opportunity to have a close up view of the Indian arts and can learn them under the supervision of professional Indian artists. The major art forms offered are Kathakali, Mohiniattam, Bharatanatyam, Karnatic Vocal Music etc. You can lean two subjects of your choice a day, from Mondays to Fridays. In addition to yoga sessions in the morning there’ll be programs in the afternoon. Full day to spend time in the center. Overnight at Kalavedi.

DAY 10 : ARANMULA

Full day to be with your ‘Gurus’ (Teachers) to know more about India and Indian arts forms. Overnight at Kala Vedi.

DAY 11 : ARANMULA – ALLEPPEY

Morning drive to Alleppey. Later by boat you’ll cruise through the world famous backwaters of Kerala and will arrive in a small village by the backwaters called Chenagiri, where you’ll be the guest of Mr. Thomas & family. You’ll have a bath attached private room. This is a nice small village and the stay with the Kerala family will be an interesting and exciting experience! Rest of the day with the family. Overnight with family.

DAY 12 : ALLEPPEY

Morning transfer by boat to Kumarakom, where you’ll check in at a Heritage Resort set on an abandoned coconut plantation in the eastern shore of Lake Vembanad . The resort can only be reached by boat and its accommodations consist of individual cottages called tharawads, the traditional wooden house of Kerala. Check in at resort for 01 night. Evening to watch Thullal dance arranged only for the guests. (This’ll be arranged only if there is a group) Overnight at resort.

DAY 13 : KUMARAKOM – KOLLAM

After breakfast drive to Kollam. On arrival check in at a backwater resort built on the shore of the Ashtamudi Lake . This resort is nearly 6 km from the Kollam and is located in the center of Kerala villages. Today you’ll get your cycles to go around and to practice. In the evening you can watch fishermen near the resort working with Chinese fishing nets.

DAY 14 : KOLLAM – VARKALA

Today early morning you’ll be transferred to the cycling point and will cycle to Varkala (nearly 35 kms). Later arrive in Paravoor, near Varkala and check in at hotel. Rest of the day free to relax by the beach. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 15 : VARKALA – VELI – KOVALAM

Early morning transfer to the cycle point and cycle up to a place called Veli (nearTrivandrum), which is nearly 25 km from the beach resort of Kovalam. On arrival at Veli transfer by coach to Kovalam and check in at resort for 04 nights. Rest of the day free to relax. Overnight at resort.

DAY 16 : KOVALAM

Day free to relax by the beach. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 17 : KOVALAM – TRIVANDRUM

Today early morning we’ll transfer you to Trivandrum to visit a Kalari School , the martial art of Kerala and to watch the demonstrations. This is an interesting visit and all of you’ll enjoy it. Later back to hotel. Afternoon drive to Vellanad, where you’ll visit a self-sufficient village run by Mr. Viswanathan. Free to go around in the village. Later back to resort and rest of the day free to relax. Overnight at resort.

DAY 18 : KOVALAM

Early morning transfer to Trivandrum International Airport for flight back.
